  Exchanges
Farmers Independent Telephone Company has three exchanges including Grantsburg, Falun, and Trade Lake.  Calls with in this area are at no charge. 
Extended community calling (ECC) began to be implemented in 1993 to help reduce the cost of calling nearby areas that were considered long distance.  Calls to these ECC areas are now billed $.05 per minute and billed on the local portion of your monthly bill.
